Hearts of Elegance Heart Shaped Card

Spread the love

Hello!

It’s been a very long time since I posted any cards on my blog. I hope to start posting more regularly, starting today, with this heart shaped card. It is one of four cards we made in my Valentine’s Day class last week. I will be posting two other cards in the coming days. This card uses products from the beautiful Marbled Elegance Suite, which is an online exclusive.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Cut a piece of Real Red cardstock at 5″ x 9″. Score at 4 1/2″. With the largest heart from the Hearts of Elegance Dies, place the top of the die at the fold so that the tops of the hearts are slightly above the fold line. Tape the die down to hold it in place so it doesn’t shift. Run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. You should end up with both hearts attached at the top.

Front of card

  • Cut a piece of Marbled Elegance DSP at 5″ x 5″. Run through machine with the largest heart die. Adhere to front of the card.
  • Run a small piece of Gold Foil paper through the machine with the smallest heart.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 1 1/2″ x 4″. Run through machine with the largest banner from the Stylish Shapes dies. Emboss the greeting with the WOW! Metallic Gold embossing powder. Stamp the greeting closer to the right side of the banner, as you might need to trim the other end down when adhering all of the elements to the front of the card. To emboss, first stamp the greeting with Versamark ink and then heat with the heat embossing tool.
  • Stamp two flowers from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set with Real Red ink. Stamp two leaves with Wild Wheat ink. Run through machine with coordinating dies. Reserve one of the flowers and leaves for the inside of the card.
  • To put the front of the card together, first, place all of the elements on the front. If the left side of greeting banner sticks out past the elements, trim a small piece off the side and then adhere. Arrange the heart, flower and leaf and adhere.

Inside of Card

  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and run through machine with the second largest heart die. It is the solid one with tiny dots around the edge.
  • Adhere the remaining die cut flower and leaf to the heart. Stamp the greeting with Real Red Ink.
  • Adhere heart to inside of card.

Add some bling to the front of the card with the adorable Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins. Place the largest heart sequin on the greeting banner and add a few more around the card. These sequins are very thin so you can add a few to the inside of the card as well, without adding any bulk.
