Timeless Tulips Easter Card

Hello and Happy Easter to my friends and customers! Despite the distancing I hope you all had a meaningful holiday. Today I’m sharing an Easter card I made with the Timeless Tulips bundle. My 98-year old father is in a local skilled nursing facility and he is doing well, however, like many of the homes in the county, there has been an outbreak of the Covid virus. I decided to make some extra cards and sent them to some of the nursing staff there as a way to let them know I am thinking of them and to bring them some cheer!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – cut piece of thick Whisper White cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Place the right side of the piece in the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder and run through embossing machine. Cut piece of the Daffodil Delight gingham paper from the 6×6 Brights Designer Series Papers at 2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to left side of piece. Adhere to card base.
  • Die cut piece of Whisper White cardstock with next-to-largest die in the Stitched Nested Labels set. Die cut scrap piece of Whisper White with the next-to-smallest die in the same set.
  • Stamp stems and leaves with Old Olive ink on the large label piece. There are two leaves in the stamp set to give you both right and left images.
  • Stamp two of the largest tulip images on Whisper White cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink and punch out with the coordinating tulip punch. Stamp medium tulip in upper left. Stamp two of the small tulips on either side of the lower stems. Arrange punched tulips and adhere bottom half with multipurpose glue.
  • Stamp greeting from the Fable Friends stamp set on smaller die cut label with Basic Gray ink. Cut 9″ piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon and tie in a knot around stamped image . Trim ends.
  • Adhere stamped image to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere greeting with Mini Stampin’ Dimensional at bottom of piece, placing it over the ribbon.
  • I left the inside blank so I could write a longer note, but you can use the greeting of your choice and stamp a tulip in the lower corner.

Timeless Tropical Floral Dress

Hello! Today I’m sharing another floral dress card. This one features products from the Tropical Oasis Suite. Floral and tropical prints are a big fashion trend this year. InStyle and Vogue magazines have been showing beautiful designer clothing with these prints in their current issues, so Stampin’ Up! is also right on trend with the fabulous Tropical Oasis Designer Series Papers!

Here is how I made the card.

  • Cut a piece of Mango Melody cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhere to Mango Melody card front.
  • Cut piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Emboss piece with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to Pear Pizzazz piece.
  • Cut piece of Tropical Oasis DSP at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Trace dress template and cut out.
  • For the flower, on scrap piece of Mango Melody cardstock, stamp with Versamark ink and heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Cut out with coordinating die from the In The Tropics die set.
  • Cut three small leaves from Pear Pizzazz cardstock with die from the set.
  • Arrange flower and leaves on dress. I put the flower down and then tucked the leaves underneath until I got a nice arrangement. Then I used a bit of snail on bottom of each leave to adhere them. Adhere flower with multipurpose glue.
  • Stamp greeting from the Timeless Tropical stamp set with Grapefruit Grove ink. Die cut with die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Using the same die, cut another piece from small scrap of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Cut this piece in half horizontally and adhere to top and bottom of greeting.
  • Adhere dress and greeting to card front with regular and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, add some bling using colored rhinestones in center of flower and around neckline of dress.
  • For the inside of the card cut piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. I selected another greeting from the stamp set and stamped the small flower image with Mango Melody ink in bottom left corner.

Floral Dresses-Kylie’s Training Blog Hop

Hello! I’m so excited that spring begins in the United States just a few days from now! Welcome to Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for March. I’m part of a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world that participate in Kylie’s program for building our businesses. Please be sure to click on the names in the list at the end of this post to hop around and view the beautiful cards posted by so many talented stampers.

Today I’m sharing two cards I made using a dress template as the focal point. I was going through some old issues of Stamper’s Sampler and Take Ten magazines recently and saw this dress template and the creative juices began to flow. I loved coloring and playing with paper dolls when I was a child and in my teen years, living in New York City, one of the fashion capitals of the world, had thought of a career in fashion at one point, so it has been fun to revisit my “inner fashion designer” !! I apologize for the quality of some of the photos. With glare from lighting and the metallics in the cards it was challenging!

The first card uses products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite. Here is how I made the card.

  • For the card base, cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of DSP from the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • For the dress, I photocopied the page from the magazine and then reduced the image to 90%, cut out and traced it around piece of the Pool Party floral DSP.
  • I stamped the blossom image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set with Early Espresso ink five times on a piece of Whisper White cardstsock. I lightly water colored the centers of the flowers with Pool Party and Petal Pink with an aquapainter and cut them out with the die from the Cherry Blossoms die set.
  • Using the Cherry Blossoms die set I also cut out a variety of blossoms from a scrap piece of Champagne Foil.
  • Stamp the sentiment with Early Espresso ink on a scrap piece of Petal Pink cardstock and cut out with die from the Ornate Frames Dies that carried over from the Holiday Catalog. This has been a “go to” set of dies for me!
  • Tie a piece of Petal Pink 1/4″ Metallic Edge Ribbon around dress waist. Adhere dress on slight angle to card front. Adhere sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Arrange die cut flowers along both edges of dress and glue down each one individually with multipurpose glue along both sides of the dress.
  • Add some Champagne Rhinestones along the neckline of the dress.
  • For the inside of the card I decided not to stamp a greeting so I cut a strip of the Pool Party floral DSP at 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhered along the side of a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4.”

For the next card I wanted to play with the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration 2nd Release.

  • Cut piece of Rococo Rose cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of the Flowering Foils DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Color the paper using a sponge brayer and Rocoso Rose ink.
  • Cut piece of 1/2″ Rococo Rose gathered ribbon and adhere to DSP, folding both ends over each side of the card. I used pieces of tape to secure both sides of the ribbon. Adhere DSP to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For the dress, cut piece of Whisper White cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 6″. Using the brayer and Rococo Rose ink, color the inside of the raised side of the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder, insert paper and run through an embossing machine. Trace dress template and cut out.
  • For the bow on the dress I wanted to use the gathered ribbon but it was too wide and bulky when I tried tying it on the dress so I ended up cutting away the gold middle of the ribbon and just using the edges, which gave me a double bow.
  • Adhere dress to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I put them all around the dress and down the middle.
  • I colored some Pearl Basic Jewels with the Light Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends and adhered to the dress.
  • For the inside of the card I decided not to use a greeting. I cut a piece of the Flowering Foils DSP at 3/4″ x 4″. I colored in the flowers with the Light Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends and the Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends for the centers, and adered to bottom piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″.

I had lots of fun making these cards and have a few more ideas that I will be featuring here in the next week so be sure to visit again.

Dressed to Impress

Today’s card features the Best Dressed Suite. The minute I saw this in the Mini Catalog I knew I had to have it – it is so me! My love of fashion came from my mother. She was a beautiful woman and what we used to call a “fashion plate.” She sure loved her clothes, jewelry, shoes and handbags and of course everything had to match perfectly! This card is all about the shoes and was quick and easy to put together.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Cut piece of Pretty Peacock cardstsock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of paper from the Best Dressed Designer Series Papers at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card front.
  • Cut piece of Mint Macaron cardstock at 3″ x 4″. Cut piece of shoe DSP at 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and adhere to Mint Macaron piece.
  • Stamp shoe greeting from the Dressed to Impress stamp set with Pretty Peacock ink on scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cut with 2″ circle from the Layering Circles Dies. You can also use the 2″ Circle Punch. Leave enough space at the top of circle to allow for room to partially adhere the shoes.
  • Stamp the shoe image twice on scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Color one shoe with the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends and the other with the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. Cut out with shoe die from the All Dressed Up Dies.
  • Cut piece of Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and tie bow around Mint Macaron and shoe DSP piece. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere stamped circle piece over ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Partially adhere shoes to circle with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, overlapping them.
  • On the inside of the card I stamped two shoes on left lower side of piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, colored them with Lovely Lipstick and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends and adhered to card.

Honey Bee

Today’s card features the Honey Bee bundle pictured on page 30 in the mini catalog, along with the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can earn for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration! The stamp set is so cute and I love all of the “sweet” sentiments in the set.

Here is how I made the card.

  • Card base – Cut piece of Basic Black cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″, score and fold in half.
  • Cut piece of paper from the Golden Honey DSP pack at 4″ x 5 1/4″. Cut this piece so that you have two pieces measuring 4″ x 3 3/4″ and 4″ x 1 1/2″. Adhere both pieces to card base, flipping one piece on the opposite side of the paper.
  • Cut piece of Basic Black cardstock at 1″ x, 4″. Select one of the sentiments from the stamp set and stamp with Versamark. Heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. Adhere to card
  • Cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and use one for the inside of the card. Stamp the bee hive, two flowers and two bees on the other piece of the Whisper White cardstock.
  • Stamp the beehive with either Pineapple Punch or Daffodil Delight ink. I had planned to use the Daffodil Delight, however, my ink pad has seen better days and even when I reinked it, the image was blotchy. So, I used Pineapple Punch, which is a bright cheery yellow. It is one of the InColors that will be retiring in June. I haven’t used it much, so it was nice to be able to work with it on this project! I am now the owner of a new Daffodil Delight ink pad too LOL!
  • Stamp the flowers and bees with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and color in with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Marker or Stampin’ Blends Marker. Cut out all images with the Detailed Bees Dies.
  • Adhere beehive and flowers to the card . Adhere the bees with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, using the other piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp a honey bee in the upper corner of the card. Cut a piece of DSP at 1/2″ x 4″ and adhere to bottom of piece. Adhere to card.

This is another of the cards we made at my recent club meeting and everyone enjoyed making this project – even those that aren’t fond of bees!

Little Ladybug – Two Versions

Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I have two adorable cards for you that feature the Little Ladybug stamp set. You can earn this stamp set for FREE with a $300 personal or workshop order during Sale-A-Bration!

Both cards use the same layout. I switched up the Designer Series Papers and colors, as well as the greetings. Here are the measurements for both cards.

  • Card base – 4 1/4″ x 11″
  • Mat for DSP – 4″ x 4″
  • DSP – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Mat for stamped piece – 3 1/4″ x 4″
  • Whisper White piece for stamped image – 3″ x 3 7/8″

I made this card for a friend that has a birthday on Valentine’s Day. I used Real Red cardstock for the base, Flirty Flamingo cardstock for the mat and From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the image I stamped the flower with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the lower left corner and colored it with Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. I used the “Hey Lady” greeting and for the inside of the card I stamped “Happy Birthday” which is also a greeting in this set. I stamped the ladybugs and colored them with Real Red and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I cut the ladybugs from dies in the Coordination Product Ladybugs Die set. These dies are available for purchase through March 31st. I adhered one of the ladybugs to the flower with liquid glue and the other was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a bow around the DSP piece with 1/8″ Real Red ribbon, which is now retired. You can substitute any ribbon or bakers twine. Adhere this piece to card base. Adhere stamped image to smaller mat and adhere to card front.

Everyone had fun making this version of the card at my stamping club last week! For this card, we used Poppy Parade for the card base, Basic Black for the DSP mat and Golden Honey Specialty Designer Paper that you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with any $50 order.

The mat for the stamped image is Daffodil Delight cardstock. For this image, stamp the flower in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the lower left corner and color it in with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I used the “You’re so Sweet” greeting from the set. Stamp the ladybugs and color with Poppy Parade and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.

I cut the ladybugs from dies in the Coordination Product Ladybugs Die set. I adhered one of the ladybugs to the flower with liquid glue and the other was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a bow around the DSP piece with Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon from the Mini Catalog. Adhere this piece to card base. Adhere stamped image to smaller mat and adhere to card front.

Stampin’ Up! has released several Coordination Products that are available for purchase now through March 31st. These products coordinate with items in the Sale-A-Bration brochure and the Mini Catalog and will be available while supplies last.
